Yahoo! search introduces a new, modern design for web search resutls page in the U.S. that is more consistent with the new Yahoo! homepage.
The new Yahoo! Search, covering Web and vertical intents like images, local, news etc. that puts search results front and center. “When it comes to search, nothing should stand between you and your results. That’s why we’he placed search results higher on the page,” Yahoo wrote.
In addtion to look and feel, the new Yahoo also received some under-the-hood performance improvements, “making the page now loading faster.”
And, the new “navigation bar” at the top of the page, helps users easily browse other Yahoo! sites. Yahoo says, it’ll be rolling out the navigation bar across more Yahoo! properties soon!.
Further Yahoo notes, that over the coming weeks and months, “it will bring together the utility of search with the richness of content and the beauty of a design that is so Yahoo!.”
Update 06/06: Yahoo! Mail rolls out a couple of features including an easiest to way to navigate Yahoo Mail inbox by effortlessly “scrolling through hundreds of messages at a time” to find what you’re looking for.
“To jump back to the top of your message list, click on the gray arrow in the lower-right corner that follows you as you scroll down the page. And to get to the earliest or most recent message in the list, simply sort by date in the menu above your inbox,” explains Yahoo.
And, the preview pane, now have the option to view it on the side of your inbox.
