Windows Vista: Running SFTMIME with the LOAD switch

SFTMIME utility lets you load apps, delete apps, configure certain settings, and so on SoftGrid (App-V), but if you run SFTMIME on Windows Vista then it’s possible you may run into the following message when you try to use it.

The Application Virtualization Client could not complete the operation. — Error code: 4505C5-0F806C04-00000A24

This can happen when you’re running Windows Vista with UAC turned on (and you are running in this secure, recommended way, right?) but you’re not running SFTMIME from an elevated command prompt.  The SFTMIME command requires elevated privileges when used with certain commands such as the “LOAD” switch, so to be sure you don’t ever see this message then when launching the command prompt that is used to run the “SFTMIME” command, right click on the “CMD” icon and select “Run as Administrator”.  That way you’ll be sure you have the permissions you need.
