Bing Audio for Windows Phone, rolling out in 14 new countries, get you answer to the forgotten name of the song or who sings it, while you’re listening to the radio.
“When you hear something playing you want to identify, just tap the Search button on your phone, then tap the little music note icon shown below. The phone listens for a few moments, and then lets you know if it finds an audio match,” explains Windows Phone team.
Bing Audio is one of those Windows Phone features that, once you know it’s there, you find yourself using all the time. Becuase, it’s built in to WP, so you can start using it right of the box–no downloading necessary. And, it’s tied into Xbox Music, so once you identify a track, it’s easy to quickly buy the song or preview others from the same artist. Just tap the Store icon shown in the screenshot above. Xbox Music Pass subscribers can also stream or download the tune to their phones.

Also, updates Xbox entertainment apps preview in Windows 8.1 is now available and with Xbox Games on Windows 8.1, you’ll now find improvements to search, including the ability to search from within the Xbox Games app using the new Search bar.
In addition, the update also introduces user interface updates, letting you to “browse your friends list or receive content notifications in easy-to-view Tiles, and use Snap to access other apps while gaming.”
The new Xbox Music experience on Windows 8.1 is entirely redesigned from the ground up to bring music lovers closer to their favorite experiences while still offering free streaming music.
Updates available now through the Windows 8.1 Preview include:
- “a faster, easier search, with Windows search powered by Bing;
- improved Collection management, so the music you’ve saved in the Xbox Music cloud and your local music will be at the forefront of the app;
- and streaming radio stations that are based on artists you like, plus you’ll have faster access to your favorite radio stations that you’ve already created.”
Also, the Xbox Video app on Windows 8.1 now lets you browse and search the latest blockbuster movies and hit TV shows with a new and improved Windows search, enabling you to access everything from your local drive, to the Web with the power of Bing and easily find content from within the Xbox Video app.
In addition, you can download video while you use other apps on your Windows 8 device, or seamlessly snap other apps onto your screen while you watch, including in portrait mode.
