Windows Media Player 12 brings “Internet remote media streaming” in Windows 7

Microsoft are closer to integrate two new features into Windows Media Player that will ship with Windows 7: a cloud-based remote control and Internet streaming of your media library. Considering most students use iTunes to allow easy access to their music on their iPod, this could well be a iTunes-killer. This new feature isn’t part of Windows 7 as such; it’s part of next version of Windows Media Player 12. So regardless of which Windows 7 edition you have, you should still have this option – in theory.

The new menu option allows you to link your Windows Live ID with a Windows 7 user account and potentially stream your music, video and photos from any Windows 7 PC to a remote PC.
