Since the launch of Windows 7, there has been a very little discussion from Microsoft regarding future plans for Windows Media Center until this week, when it was announced that the Media Center application would be included in Windows Embedded 7 Standard, with a plan to embed the product’s media acquisition and playback features into a variety of consumer electronic devices, without the need for a connected PC. Cuong Pham, Windows Embedded technical evangelist, demonstrates the Windows Media Center feature in Windows Embedded Standard 7. This includes TV and DVR functionality, integration of media available in personal libraries (digital movies, music and photos), seamless access to streaming media, and connected devices.
