Windows Live Wave 2

Microsoft today releases the next generation of free Windows Live services worldwide.  Consumers can now download the full Windows Live suite at once, or pick and choose their favorites, at www.windowslive.com

Microsoft is also kicking off the final launch of Windows Live with a two-day event where people can upload their photos to www.windowlive.com and share their virtual smile with the world.  Microsoft is partnering with children’s not-for-profit Operation Smile (www.operationsmile.org) to encourage people to share smiles through Windows Live to help Operation Smile make a difference in the lives of children around the world.

In addition to uploading photos to www.windowslive.com people in New York City and Los Angeles, Calif., can visit Windows Live photo booths to have their smiles photographed and sign up for Windows Live services

Windows Live services will begin rolling out in the late afternoon/early evening of 6 November, with full global rollout completion expected by the morning of 7 November.

Consumer messaging:

• Windows Live enhances your Windows experience with a set of online tools that brings the web right to you on your PC or mobile device, and lets you communicate and share with the people you care about.
• With this release, our most popular features like Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Hotmail and Windows Live Spaces get even better, and we have some new fun tools for you to try too:

o Windows Live Events is a new service that lets you plan events, invite friends and share photos from your event when it is done.
• Windows Live includes the Windows name because, ultimately, it is designed to enhance the power of Windows software and combine it with the flexibility and pervasiveness of online services to help seamlessly connect the PC and the Web for users.
