An update to the Windows Live OneCare Family Safety website has taken place this weekend, with the layout changing to the familiar Orb + Flair seen on the many other Windows Live sites.
As reported on Liam Daly’s Blog –“Windows Live OneCare Family Safety Beta Refresh! Over the next few days, you may see a preview of the refreshed Family Safety website as we update our servers and transition them over to the new content and functionality. The client software is also being updated in parallel and we expect the client download to be ready by Monday also, but you may not see the “toast” notification to update your client until Tuesday the 12th.”
In conjunction with the Refresh Release, we are also announcing the Beta Refresh Bug Bash Challenge, where you can compete in several categories of bug finding to win prizes. The Bug Bash Challenge will start on December 12th and end on December 15th, so you’ll need to be quick to compete!
You can look forward to many updates to the product, including bug fixes based on reports from you, our excellent beta testers. We’ll be emailing you again on the 11th to give you instructions on how to upgrade as well as details on the prizes and prize categories for the Bug Bash Challenge.
For those not familiar with the service, there are two parts:
- The Family Safety website, which allows websites and content to be restricted for each registered Windows Live ID, with reports of childrens’ activity also appearing here.
- The Family Safety client, which filters content based on the settings chosen at the Family Safety website.
