The Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) for Windows 10 version 1607, is now available on the Microsoft Hardware Dev Center.
“(adksetup.exe file version 10.1.14393.0) primarily tested and support the most recent release of the Configuration Manager current branch, (version 1606),” stated EMS team.
Microsoft noted, since Configuration Manager v1602, has only a limited support for Windows 10 version 1607–-therefore customers still at this version of ConfigMGR deploying newer Windows 10 versions can either upgrade to latest ADK release, or remain with [prior version Windows ADK for Windows 10 version 1511].
Beyond that, “we do not support deployment of Windows 10, version 1607, with older versions of Configuration Manager,” the team writes. “So the need for this new version of the Windows ADK does not apply.”
If you are still not able to get past the news, try the tabular format to undertand:
Legend in the pic above explained:
1Windows ADK for Windows 10 version 1511, provides basic forward compatibility and can be used for image capture, image apply, driver injection, and offline update servicing of Windows 10, version 1607, if absolutely necessary. We strongly recommend upgrading to the latest ADK version, but basic forward compatibility is supported during the transition period.
2 newer ADK is only needed if deploying Windows 10, version 1607.
