Microsoft’s Windows Store has reached a new milestone with now containing over 35,000 for Windows 8 and Windows RT apps worldwide. Windows Store has achieved this number in just two months, compared to the Windows Phone Store, which took it a year to reach over 35,000 apps.
Of the 35,000+ apps in the Windows Store, the US market will see over 22,500 apps.
Microsoft also aired a new Window 8 television commercial entitle “Windows 8: Carnival” showcases a different face of the operating system, one that allows users to have fun straight from the Modern UI.
In other news, reacting to recent Google’s VP and head of the company’s enterprise unit, statement that Googles’ goal is to take 90% of Office users away from Microsoft and get them to use Google Apps instead — Microsoft’s business division general manager, Julia White, said, Google is not “truly serious” when it comes to the enterprise app business.
“Google “has not yet shown they are truly serious” when it comes to the enterprise app business because “from the outside, they are an advertising company”,” added White.
White fruther noted that Office 365 is “on track to be our fastest growing business.” On top of that, she said that Google would have to “provide a quality enterprise experience” in areas like “privacy, data handling and security” if they want to be taken seriously as a competitor.
Also, following performance issue reports its antimalware products with signature definition versions starting with 1.141.2400.0 (12/21/2012 1920 UTC)–Microsoft today released an update version 1.141.2639.0 (12/27/2012 0625 UTC), that resolve this issue.
