Windows 7 ‘Unlock secret God Mode folder’

In PC games, we’ve godmode, something that enable ‘cheats & hidden features,’ Windows 7 too, has a super secret “God Mode,” which’s basically a simple folder that collects all of the Control Panel functions, interface customization, accessibility options, just about every aspect of controlling Windows 7 into a single place. Here’s the steps to set up God Mode: 1. Create a new folder anywhere. 2. Rename the folder by pasting following, exactly as it appears (copy it first): GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} . This folder will now be a shortcut to the Windows 7 godmode. The godmode allows you to quickly access many Windows 7 functions via a GUI.

Microsoft stated that “you can change the text from “GodMode” to anything — so the “GodMode” is really just a power feature. However, it’s not intended for use and shouldn’t be relied upon. Second thing you’ve discovered’s “All Tasks” folder — a special shell folder used as source of the “Control Panel” search results seen in Start menu. The “All Tasks” folder has no custom view, so you just see the standard Explorer list view and little else.”

Sinofsky revealed that developers could take advantage of a variety of GodMode tricks as access points to Windows system settings, not limited to Windows 7, but also apply to older releases of Windows, indicating that the developer features are nothing new, or specific to the latest iteration of the Windows client. Here’re additional items:

“These canonical names are well documented on MSDN for Windows Vista and Windows 7 so feel free to have fun creating control panels all over your file system,” Patrick.
