Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Beta expires on June 30, 2011, (also Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) – How to Uninstalling SP1

With the release of Windows 7 SP1 Beta, Microsoft also released a range of resources, along with a Knowledge Base article KB 976932, which provides general information about the upgrade, including details about support, download links, expiration date, etc. “No formal product support is available from Microsoft for this beta product,” revealed Microsoft.

“SP1 Beta is time-limited software. You must uninstall this service pack beta software before you install the final version of the service pack. Also, this beta software will no longer operate after June 30, 2011 (emphasis added).”

To uninstall SP1 Beta, follow these steps: Click Start, type appwiz.cpl in Search programs and files box, and then press ENTER, Click View installed updates, ClickService Pack for Microsoft Windows (KB 976932), and then click Uninstall, and Follow instructions to complete uninstall process.
