“What’s Your Story?” The White House Video Challenge for Asian American Pacific Islanders

The White House recently launched a creative initiative — “What’s Your Story?” video challenge — asking Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) across the country who have impacted their community through their dreams, experiences, and dedication to a cause to record their personal stories via short YouTube videos.

“Tell us how your unique experiences have shaped who you are today. Are you a passionate advocate of green and health initiatives for nail salons? Have you made a difference in your community through work with immigrant integration programs? Are you part of a movement that paves the way for AAPIs in the arts? Respond to our launch video below with a video under 3-minutes about your own experience and community leadership. You may also submit an essay under 1,000 words to address these questions,” read the description if the page.

“Videos will be accepted in any form: including music video, PSA, short film, video blog, and interview. Essays will also be accepted where video production may not be possible. Submissions must be creative, innovative, and inspiring.”

A select number of videos will be posted to the White House website and exceptional AAPI leaders will be invited to the White House for a special gathering.

To learn more, or submit your own video (deadline November 1st), visit WhiteHouse.gov/WhatsYourStory.
