A few weeks ago, while introducing beta of Visio for the iPad, Microsoft said to be releasing public preview of Visio Online, today, making good on that promise, Visio Online Public Preview, to view and share diagrams in the web.
In order to use Visio Online, create a professional diagrams using Visio desktop application, then upload the file .vsdx on either OneDrive for Business or SharePoint Online by going to File -> Save as -> SharePoint, which can then be view on any device, by using nothing but a browser, [Even a Visio desktop application is not needed].
Of course, zoom in to view the details or zoom out to get the big picture is supported as well.
Additionally, a file can also be shared from Visio Online Public Preview, for this open the diagram in the browser, then click Share button in the top right, and then enter the email ids to share with, or generate a link to copy-paste to IM window, emails, or documents.
The Vision Online preview also offer the ability to search using new Find Pane (Press Ctrl+F to open), the results would then display in the pane and clicking any of the search result selects the corresponding shape in the drawing canvas as well.
The new search feature can be use to find all occurrences of a shape name, shape text, shape data or any user-defined cell.
