Troubleshooting: Microsoft Online Services Directory Synchronization hasn’t run in over 48 hours

If you’re running Microsoft Online Services Directory Synchronization, are you receiving e-mail error messages that Directory Synchronization hasn’t run in over 48 hours? This issue may occur if any of following conditions is true: » computer running DS isn’t working » Network connection issues with computer running DS » MOD Sync Tool service is stopped because Microsoft Update recently installed a SQL update which requires restarting service » Online Admin Account configured for use in DS has changed » One of the following events has occurred with Online Admin account used to configure DS: » account has been deleted; account has been disabled; account password has expired.

To resolve: “From Start menu, run Services.msc and verify that Microsoft Online Directory Sync Tool service is running. If it’s not running, right click the service and click Start.”
