With Microsoft App-V while trying to stream a package with Configuration Manager 2007 – if you set the advertisement to “Stream virtual applications from distribution point” then it would fail with “0A-400000C8”:
Tom Troggler offered a solution: “The problem caused by malware inspection feature of ForeFront TMG Web Proxy Server. If you see above error code try to disable Proxy on the Clients for further research. If you’re using TMG be sure to add SCCM (streaming enabled) Distribution Point to Malware Destination Exceptions,” explains Tom.
You wont see this error with App-V Management Server when using RTSP or RTSPS as streaming protocol. And, you wont even see it with SCCM if “Download content from distribution point and run locally” is selected because this uses BITS to transfer whole package to the client and run it locally. Since SCCM uses HTTP/HTTPS for streaming the connection will go to proxy server and will be killed by Malware Inspection.
