When we’re creating client-side functionality, the number of available frameworks and toolkits at our disposal is dazzling. Making a profound choice can be vital to the success of your projects. jQuery is the rising star in this area. But what happened to the Ajax Client Library, is that still a good choice? And what about the Ajax Toolkit?

In this session, Gill Cleeren will explain the major differences between these frameworks. We’ll then look at jQuery in much more detail as well and we’ll see what investments Microsoft’s making in jQuery as well.

In this session, we’ll see what the new IE9 has in stock for web developers. And will learn how to create “Pinned Sites”, allowing you to integrate your website with Windows 7 taskbar and start menu, without breaking them for other browsers. We’ll also see the most important features of the new browser, including the Chakra JavaScript engine that compiles JavaScript into native code, the new “F12” developer tools or the hardware accelerated graphics engine of IE9 that’ll boost the performance of SVG and Canvas elements.
