Another new game has been sighted. Today. The game in question is for the PSP, and will be called Spinout (which sounds a bit like an amalgamation of every racing game name ever invented). The title will see us racing around in a variety of Xorbs – ultra-fast Wipeout style vehicles of the future, amid some world of tomorrow-style scenery.
Publisher Ghostlight are behind this new PSP opus, and a release on March 30th is planned. Icon Games will develop, with the game billed as developer Icon Games’ answer to Super Monkey Ball. Fifty tracks are on offer in total, with vehicles enhanced through power-ups and upgradeable ‘bits’. More than two-million combinations are possible to create many unique vehicles, which is quite a few.
“Spinout is a unique title custom designed for handheld gaming with puzzle/platform elements keeping players gasping for more,” explained Sam Collins, sales manager of Ghostlight. “Spinout has received rave reviews from specialist game press, liking it to the spills and thrills of Marble Madness and Super Monkey Ball’. Spinout boasts fantastic game play and is clearly a must have title for 2007.”
A release in 2005 was on the cards, according to UK site Eurogamer.net, but it didn’t come out. For some reason. More on this soon.
