The next generation of Skype with new features for livelier group chats, a new Highlights tool for sharing photos and videos, easier ways to express yourself with emoticons and more is rolling out worldwide Thursday.
The new Skype also vastly improves getting things done easier with add-ins and bots in chats, from buying event tickets on StubHub to planning a trip with Expedia.
Skype group chat now let you show-off personal style by customizing Skype with favorite colors, simply tapping on a reaction icon next to any message or video call, express your feelings at any time.
And the new Highlights feature let you create a highlight reel of the day with photos and videos to share your everyday moments — just swipe ‘n’ access camera, take a photo or video, then post it to Highlights or send it to contacts or groups, who in turn can then react with emoticons or get into a conversation.
It’s also easier now to turn a talk into action with group conversations, add-ins, bots, and the new “Find” panel makes Skype infinitely searchable anything. Also, new add-ins and bots will continue to be added to make the experience even more rich and robust.
Skype group video calling available worldwide today, is first rolling out gradually over the coming weeks to Android mobile devices, which is followed by iPhone. Finally, versions for Windows and Mac will be releasing over the next few months.
