Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser, multi-environment plug-in that delivers next gen of Microsoft .NET — based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the web. This article describes Silverlight 4 general distribution release version 4.0.51204.0 released on Dec’15.
“Foreign diacritical marks (usually accent marks on non-US languages) don’t display in a TextBox control or a RichTextBox control in an out-of-browser (OOB) app on the Mac platform. This update simply fixes what was a broken piece of functionality.
Before you apply this update, a Silverlight 4 OOB app can enable an update only when the app is signed with matching certificates that’ve not expired,” explains Microsoft in KB2477244.
This update relaxes this restriction. After you apply the update, an OOB app can enable an update if following conditions are true:
- Both new app and the old app have valid signatures.
- The new app is signed with a trusted certificate.
- The Subject and the Issuer of the certificate that’s used to sign the new app match those of the certificate that is used to sign the old app.
