Rsizr is a new Flash based photo editing site that works fast and smoothly without even so much as a sign up. It also uses “seam carving”, a new image resizing algorithm that divides a photo into slices and removes uninteresting slices while keeping the highly detailed parts intact. The method was pioneered by by Shai Avidan and Ariel Shamir, as shown in the video below.
Rsizr brings this technique to Flash-based editors: it can handle all of your .GIF, .JPG, and .PNG images with no problems. Most of the tools are you usual basic assortment of cropping, erasing, drawing, and so on, but the addition of seam carving makes it stand out (use the “retarget” button”).
