A post today, explains how the new presentation mode in the Power BI app help you bring data presentation to the next level.
Specifically designed for the Surface Hub and other big touch screens, once you enter the new full screen view for reports, all navigation and menu bars are now hidden from the screen. However, you can still navigate report with new and minimized menu.
In presentation mode in the Power BI mobile app, all the “chrome” such as the navigation and menu bars is removed, except the page tabs and filter pane in reports.
The Power BI’s presentation mode is by default enabled for Surface Hub, while, you can enable it via ‘app settings’ on laptops and tablets.
With the Surface Hub’s stylus, you can annotate on top of your report data in order to emphasize, explain, and highlight different parts of your reports.
Also, a set of useful functions added into an action bar on both sides of the screen makes this an intuitive and easy experience.
With this “new action bar on Surface Hub, you can configure the ink color, or clear all of the inking on the page,” the team stated.
In addition, actions like refreshing the report data and navigating between the report pages (sequentially or hop to a specific page) are also available, explained the BI team.
For those new, ‘presentation mode’ is useful for displaying Power BI at a meeting or conference, or on a dedicated projector in an office, or even just for maximizing space on a small screen.
“You can display reports in ‘presentation mode’ in the Power BI app on Surface Hub, and display dashboards, reports, and tiles in presentation mode in the Power BI mobile app for Windows 10 devices.”
