Pinterest Pincodes Bridges Offline-to-online Customer Experiences

Pinners are already using Pinterest camera to find visual inspiration and ideas, now there’s an easy new way that aims to help retailers bridge the offline world — from in-store displays to product packaging — for their customers to instantly connect with more product ideas and inspiration on Pinterest through a newly launhced “Pinterest Pincodes.”

Basically just like a QR code, Pincodes are specially designed and leverages Pinterest’s visual discovery tools to connect people to specially curated content on Pinterest, says the company.

Here is how Pincode works?

When a person on Pinterest comes across a Pincode, all they need to do is — just open their Pinterest camera and hold it up to scan the code. And, the customers can then be directed to special boards on Pinterest, or even they can be send to your profile, so they can see everything you’ve got to offer.

Pincodes right now are leveraged by the Nordstrom, who is helping their customers gear up for the holidays using the new feature. “By strategically placing Pincodes throughout their stores, they’re reaching people in those moments when they’ve got some downtime to fill,” says Pinterest.
