Google Ads has now extended the availability of parallel tracking for Display and Video campaigns to May this year.
Last year in September, the company announced that parallel tracking will be expanded to mobile Display and Video campaigns in March, 2019.
Now, this availability has been moved to the May 1st, 2019.
With this shift of data, advertisers now have plenty of time in order to prepare adopting parallel tracking which is planned to become mandatory starting on July 31st, 2019, for all display and video campaigns.
By adopting parallel tracking, advertisers can enhance their Google Ads performance with instant loading of landing page after an ad is clicked.
Parallel tracking can help reduce page load time by up to 5 seconds as the click measurement requests are processed in the background.
“With parallel tracking, users will head immediately to the landing page after clicking an ad while their browser processes click measurement requests in the background.”
Advertisers are advised to contact their click measurement provider if an ad URL need to be changed.
Ads will need to be reviewed in that case, says Google Ads.
Google is also advising advertisers to space out changes over multiple days, in case if they have display and video campaigns across multiple accounts.
Advertiser can turn parallel tracking using the following steps:
- Login into Google Ads account
- Then select “All campaigns” from the navigation menu
- Click “Settings” in the page menu on the left
- Select “Account Settings”
- Now, click “Tracking”
- Finally, click turn on “Parallel tracking” by clicking on the switch.
