Microsoft reimagined Outlook.com was launched back in July of 2012 with numerous new features and modern look and feel–has today, leaves its “preview” phase, and is ready fro prime with new marketing campaign and a new tagline “email that gets you going”.
Microsoft notes that in just six months Outlook.com has reached a new milestone as it now has “over 60 million users”, and is the “the world’s fastest growing email service going from 0 to 60 million in just 6 months.”
Adding, further, the company says it plan to launch a large-scale worldwide marketing campaign to showcase Outlook.com. And, that it has begun upgrading every Hotmail user to Outlook.com by this summer. According to Microsoft the process of migration will be seamless and instant for those who use Hotmail “will not require to switch their email address to @outlook.com (if they choose not to)”.
Outlook.com is delivering on the company’s vision for modern email and it lets you connect to popular social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Additionally, it makes it easy to send photos and videos in a single message through SkyDrive. “Today, millions of people are using those features to keep up to date with friends’ contact info updates, photos and tweets,” the company wrote.

Update 02/21: Microsoft begun advertising Outlook.com on YouTube, telling users, who register for an account on the modern email serivce, can view YouTube videos right in their inbox.
Microsoft has also posted two new videos of about Outlook.com–the first one below shows the features of all three major email services including: Outlook.com, Gmail and Yahoo Mail.

Update 02/28: Microsoft just announced that right taking off the preview tag of Outlook.com–the modern email service “gained 1.5 million more people the very next day.”
Furthering their efforts to advertise, Microsoft at the last weekend, trip down the pink carpet at IFC’s annual Independent Spirit Awards and talked to celebrites about their email habits.

Update 03/08: A new Outlook.com video advertisement showcases all of the new features as well as welcomes you to “a modern take on email” — and also indicates that Skype integration to the email service is coming soon.
