Office.com Improved Search Now Includes Results from Other Websites Alongside Microsoft Articles and Videos

Microsoft has launched new and improved search on Office.com portal to show you search results in Help from other reputable web sites, alongside companies own articles and videos. The ability to see results from other web sites is available in both the 2007 and 2010 versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.

“Many people are using Office products in creative, inspiring ways. We want you to be able to tap into this wealth of content, so that you have a better chance of finding the answer to your question,” Microsoft mentions.

For example, when you search for “count” in Excel, you’ll see this:

  • Other Microsoft sites, such as MSDN and TechNet.
  • Non-Microsoft sites by community experts, such as Microsoft Most Valued Partner (MVP) sites.
  • Any other site out in the ether that offers valuable advice about the program you’re using.
