Obama named ‘Howard Schmidt’ as new U.S. cybersecurity coordinator

President Obama named a new U.S. cybersecurity coordinator “Howard Schmidt,” a computer security specialist who has worked as an executive for companies including Microsoft and eBay, and as a security adviser to the administration of George W. Bush. Given the significance of computer networks in the U.S. infrastructure, national security issues will be a major focus for Schmidt in the job.
