Just in time for the holidays, a new Google Wallet experience across all browsers on the web, with a brand new look and added features is available as on Thursday, Dec. 15.
The new Wallet experience on the web, now allows you to send money to anyone’s email address or phone number, they can then quickly transfer the money to their bank account “all without installing an app.”
Additionally, when you request money, your friends can pay without leaving their browser on the web. And, once the money is received, you won’t even need to cash out, as you can set a default payment method and any money that’s sent to you through Wallet will be automatically transferred to that account.
Sign in to wallet.google.com now and be sure to bookmark it for the next time you need to pay someone back.
Another holiday gift, Google is encouraging brands to use ‘Promoted Places in Google Maps’ to showcase their special offers and announcements to drive more traffic to their stores this holiday season.
Currently, in a limited test phase, the Promoted Places was first announced in March and integrates seamlessly with browsing experience on the Google Maps for Android app.
Promoted Places ads appear where places of interest are visually marked with retailers location icons to help users orient themselves and explore the world around them. When a user clicks on a branded pin, it will reveal promotions such as in-store sales or new products and services to help consumers decide where to go. Additionally, they can view business’s place page to see store hours, check live updates to Popular Times, get directions, and more.
Advertisers can improve awareness for their stores by branding their location icons with their logo.
