With the end of the year’s fast approaching, Google has just in time to help travellers plan their long weekend getaway introduced a new set of tools to Flights search, Trips, and in search results for hotels.
Google Flights now by using machine learning and statistical analysis of historical flights data will display tips under search results to guide travellers towards the best time to book flights. You can even scroll through the results to figure out more.
Flights will also show tips that may say, like “prices are less than normal” if the flights from your destination are cheaper than usual and by how much to indicate you’d spotted a deal. Or, based on a price prediction algorithms, it’ll dispaly “won’t drop further” if prices tend to remain steady for the date and place you’re searching for.
Similarly, searching for hotels on Google will now display a new tip when room rates are higher than average , or if the destination is expected to be busier than usual. The tips will appear above the search results.
And, by opting into Hotel Price Tracking, you can get price alerts via email when prices drop. The feature will be rolling out on desktop in the new year.
A new discounts section within Trips will help travellers instantly save money by prvoding acess to deals for ticketing and tours on top attractions and activites at their destination.
These features are now available in mobile search, and expected to roll out to desktop in 2018.
