Windows 8 Consumer Preview was launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona back in February. And, this week during the Microsoft Management Summit 2012, Microsoft revealed the four SKUs for Windows 8: “Windows 8,” “Windows 8 Pro,” “Windows 8 RT,” and “Windows 8 Enterprise”.
Though, the reactions to the Consumer Preview of Windows 8 have been somewhat mixed – as not everybody is in love with the new Metro interface, but that’s not stopping users from downloading, installing and using the Consumer Preview released. It’s worth noting that Microsoft happily shared about the fact that it saw about “1 million downloads within the first 24 hours” after the consumer preview of Windows went online.
Now, according to Microsoft’s Building Windows 8 tweet, “millions of people” are already using the Windows 8 Consumer Preview every day and overall usage of the preview is double of what the company saw at the same point in time after launching the Windows 7 beta.
Windows 8 consumer preview usage more than twice Windows 7 beta at the same point in time. Millions of people using everyday.#thankyou
