Microsoft Windows 8 Reimagines Windows For The Future: BUILD Conference [Videos]

Here are the video from the BUILD conference in Anaheim, Calif.

Steven Sinofsky, President, Windows and Windows Live Division at Microsoft, presented to a sold-out audience of developers and shared an early preview of Windows 8, the next version of Microsoft’s best-selling operating system.

Julie Larson-Green, Corporate Vice President Windows Experience at Microsoft, unveiled a fast and fluid new user interface for the upcoming Windows 8 at the Build. Larson-Green previewed the new “Metro style” UI including the Start screen.

Larson-Green, also showcased how Windows 8 is built for touch by demoing gestures such as swipe left, right, top and bottom as well as new features called charms such as search, share, start, devices, and settings.

Sinofsky, showcased how Windows 8 works beautifully across a spectrum of devices.

Jensen Harris from the Windows User Experience team walks us through how Microsoft reimagined Windows with the new Metro UI in “Windows 8”.

Sinofsky, in the video below showcased a series of prototype apps developed by Microsoft’s summer interns and reinforced how easy it will be for developers to create Apps for Windows 8.

If you saw the keynote this morning, you got a quick look at the Samsung prototype PC with Windows 8 Developer Preview that we will be giving out to the 5000 attendees at the BuildWindows conference. Mike Angiulo, Corporate Vice President of Hardware & PC Ecosystem, sat down with us to give us a detailed first look at unboxing this device. This amazing machine has it all, a beautifully responsive 10-point touch sensor, i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, gyro, magnetic sensor, Bluetooth keyboard, Near Field Communications sensor, and even a pen! This will allow the developers at Build to explore the types of applications they can create for Windows 8.

Angiulo, in the video below demonstrates how Windows 8 works beautifully across a spectrum of devices with Sinofsky.
