Microsoft to Bring “Chatter” to Windows 8

Beingmanan.com has picked up on a few subtle hints from the Windows 8 UI for the tablet based interface demonstration and discovered that Microsoft looks to bring “Chatter” to the Windows 8 platform.

The first clue was the Windows 8 lock screen that features a webcam that indicates video calling or some other sort of visual based communication tool will be a key part of the platform. Following up, a MDL users has discovered a dll file named ConsentUX.dll, which might be similiar to the UAC consent prompt screen but for other stuff.

Further, it is speculated that there will be a unified inbox of sorts that keeps all of your contact platforms together in one single location. It does show that Microsoft is working to converge all formats of communicatio, and it also shows that this type of material will be baked into Windows 8 and willn’t simply be an additional program to the platform.

The ConsentUX.dll uses some strings like:

100,Do you want to allow %1 to use your %2 ?

1601,Do you want to you allow Chatter to use your video ?
1603,Always Allow
