Microsoft is all set to open a new retail store in suburban Washington, D.C. The new Microsoft store will be at Tysons Corner Center near McLean, Va. Microsoft added the new store to its website, and Microsoft posted plans for the new D.C.-area store on Facebook page and also tweeted about it on Friday.

Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner said recently that Microsoft is looking at major markets, including a big push on the East Coat, including New York and Florida.
It is the first Microsoft store announced for the heavily populated Eastern Seaboard, an area where Microsoft says it plans to make a big push with stores.
Microsoft is making a significant push to compete with Apple on the retail store front. But Microsoft has lots of ground to gain. The Redmond company has a dozen stores; Apple has more than 300 retail stores, including six in the greater Seattle-Bellevue area.
Microsoft is beefing up its retail store lineup, with plans to add 75 more Microsoft Stores over the next two to three years to compete with Apple’s storefronts.
