Microsoft is planning on opening its eighth store in the next few months, directly across from an Apple store.
“Microsoft and Apple will be facing off, literally, at one of the Seattle region’s swankiest shopping centers. The Redmond company plans to open its first retail store in the city of Seattle, and its second in the region, across from the Apple store at the open-air University Village, according to city permit filings,” according to Techflash.
City records identify the Microsoft Store as the tenant moving into the space of the Miller-Pollard furniture store at University Village, which’s closing at the end of the month. The space is on the other side of a small parking lot from the Apple store — continuing Microsoft’s pattern of putting its stores near those of its rival.
The records don’t give a timeline for the store opening.
