Microsoft files suits against Datel vs. over unlicensed Xbox 360 controllers complaints

Microsoft already facing a dispute with Datel Design & Development over its unauthorized Xbox 360 memory units, has filed a seperate suit in federal court in Seattle (PDF) alleging that the U.K. company’s controllers for the game console violate a series of Microsoft design patents “The suit seeks unspecified monetary damages, including royalties from Datel’s sale of its TurboFire and WildFire game controllers for the Xbox 360. “We’ve a robust licensing program that ensures high standards and contributes to a great experience for the Xbox gamer community,” said Kevin Kutz, in an emailed statement. “We have a responsibility to protect that program and the companies that are part of it, as well as our own intellectual property.”
