Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions launches third annual Creative Awards

Industry-leading awards championing creativity and innovation in digital marketing open for entries; first-prize winners entered into Cannes Cyber Lions Awards 2007.

Microsoft Corp. announces its third annual Microsoft® Digital Advertising Solutions Creative Awards (formerly known as the MSN® European Creative Competition). The awards, designed to champion creativity and innovation in online advertising, are split into five industry categories: consumer goods (FMCG); non-governmental organisations; financial services and telecoms; media and entertainment; and the fifth category, travel and transport, which has been extended from the 2006 automotives category. A “Best in Show” accolade will be awarded to the most outstanding creative overall.
With the recent launch of Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions, entrants are this year encouraged to submit campaigns that have run across the extended Microsoft advertising network, including MSN, Windows Live™ and Office Online. Multinational1 campaigns will also be accepted.
Since their launch in 2005, the Creative Awards have grown in popularity, with the number of entries doubling each year to an impressive 255 in 2006.
“As ad spending continues to increase and online advertising cements its position as part of the media mix, some of the most creative and effective advertising is now being found on the internet,” said Marc Bresseel, regional sales director of Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions EMEA. “Last year’s awards were hugely competitive, attracting a broad spectrum of compelling, exciting and innovative entries that really sought to inspire and engage with consumers while challenging traditional thinking. Through these awards we want to continue to recognise and reward creative talent, and inspire agencies and advertisers to use the online medium in fresh and exciting ways.”
