Visual Studio Team Services updates include new task versioning and ability to follow pull requests
The latest updates in Visual Studio Team Services include a new build task versioning, which lets authors roll out a new version of a task without affecting other people using the task.
You can also now follow a pull request and see a preview of the new hosted Linux pool, which enables building and releasing on Linux machines without having to configure a private agent.
Additionally, you can lock build definition to a major version, and build definitions can be updated to the new major version when ready to test it. Author can now create a new major version without affecting existing builds.
However, disabling minor version updates is not currently possible, because Microsoft uses to forcibly push security fixes, etc. “We’re still exploring options for further lock down for very controlled environments,” Microsoft said.
