Microsoft Azure Availability Zones which aims to provide the most comprehensive resiliency strategy for the cloud services is now generall available as on Friday.
With this launch, Microsoft Azure now offers a comprehensive resiliency strategy in the cloud industry from mitigating rack level failures with availability sets to protecting against large scale events with failover to separate regions, the company stated.
Availability Zones increase fault tolerance within a region with physically separated locations, each with independent power, network, and cooling.
First announced at the Microsoft Ignite 2017, the Availability Zones rolling out beginning with select regions in the United States and Europe, and providing an industry-leading 99.99% SLA “when virtual machines are running in two or more Availability Zones in the same region,” Microsoft wrote.
Moving forward, Availability Zones will get added to additional geographies, said Microsoft.
