Mark Elliot Zuckerberg Named TIME’s 2010 Person of the Year – WkiLeaks Founder Julian Assange 3rd Runner Up

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook has been named Time magazine’s Person of the Year. Mark is followed by The Tea Party, The Chilean miners and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

“For connecting more than half a billion people and mapping the social relations among them (something that has never been done before); for creating a new system of exchanging information that has become both indispensable and sometimes a little scary; and finally, for changing how we all live our lives in ways that are innovative and even optimistic, Mark Elliot Zuckerberg is TIME’s 2010 Person of the Year,” Time managing editor Rick Stengel writes in his explanation of why the magazine chose the 26-year-old entrepreneur.

Times’s Richard Stengel interviewed Zuckerberg, chatting about privacy, philanthropy and how the social networking company is changing the media business.
