Maps 101 for educating Kids with Bing Maps and other Microsoft technologies

Maps 101 is launching Bing Maps Platform in their education portal as the backdrop for exploring their massive repository of map-based information. For initial launch, subscribers can use dynamic map to find Maps101 content – including National Geographic videos, Maps, Lesson plans, Educational games and activities for specific geographic location. Users of online K-12 resource will be able to explore streets, neighborhoods, cities and countries, search for relevant content & share experiences as part of host of exciting new Maps101 features developed with Bing. “This web app has great implications for education. Kids love visualization maps provide and indexing pertinent information respective to their interests maps research fun. Using Microsoft FAST Search with Bing Maps has been a great combination for many of my enterprise customers,” explains Chris Pendleton. So, check out Maps 101. There’re bunch of mash-ups tied into Maps 101 such as “Women in History,” which pins famous women in history to Bing Map.
