KIN: Is Microsoft’s promo really a ‘sexting’ video

If you’ve not seen Microsoft KIN “censored video” – just take another look at this Kin marketing video that caused big “sexting” dustup. While you watch keep in mind that the guy putting the KIN up his shirt in, in fact, a guy. This comment on YouTube has been receiving big votes of support “I can see a consumer report that calls out a product? on its (functionality) or misfunctions, shortcomings but this is nothing more than fear mongering opinionated (propaganda) and has nothing to do with Microsoft. People use cell phones AND (cameras) to do the same thing all the time, and this commercial in no way shape or form makes me want to go out and take naked pics of myself to send to someone nor think Microsoft is responsible for juvenile behavior.” On the other side of the issue is Mike Gikas of Consumer Reports, who called the sequence “downright creepy.” In the video, he wrote, “a young man is shown putting a Kin under his shirt and apparently snapping a picture of one of his naked breasts.” “Since when is a man’s chest described as ‘breasts’?” responded one person on the Consumer Reports blog. “Mountain out of a mole hill. Literally and figuratively.”
