Internet Explorer has finally left Firefox with the European pole position. IE, across all versions, lost about 8% of its market share between December 2009 and 2010. In the rest of the world, IE is still the most popular browser, according to StatCounter. In fact, the only other territory where Firefox is in the lead is Antarctica.
Firefox, on the other hand, by losing just 3% of its share, has ended up on top. The only browser to gain market share, is Google’s Chrome, which began the year at 5% and ended at almost 15%.
