Google’s executives will soon be enjoying their own private airport space ahead, according to a Mineta San Jose International Airport press release, “Signature Flight Support, in tandem with a company called Blue City Holdings, who is representing personal aircraft of the principals at Google, headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., will likely be awarded a 50-year lease on San Jose Airport’s West Side.”
The Singnature Flight Support, would develop and operate a 29-acre, $82 million facility, in which they will manage, most notably, the personal aircraft of the principals at Google, among other clients.
“It certainly makes sense,” said Mineta spokeswoman Rosemary Barnes. “It’s (Google) a household high-tech name, and San Jose is an ideal Silicon Valley location.”
Signature’s 270,000 square feet of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold-certified facilities on approximately 29 acres will offer following facility and service components:
- “an executive terminal;
- ramp space accommodating large business jets (such as the Boeing Business Jet (BBJ737) and Boeing B767; and
- aircraft servicing facilities,” informs the press note.
