IE Cumulative Security Update for August 2010 (MS10-053) Fixes “Remote Code Execution” exploit in Internet Explorer 6/7/8

Microsoft yesterday released its “massive security patches,” that contains IE CSU for August 2010 (MS10-053), that resolves six privately reported vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer 6 /7 /8. The most severe vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted Web page using IE. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights. The security update addresses vulnerabilities by modifying the way IE enforces security checks and handles objects in memory,” explained Microsoft IE team.

Customer who’ve automatic update enabled, should have already been updated. Customers with disable automatic updating need to check / install updates manually from Microsoft Update site.
