Windows 7 introduced a number of new end-user features that make using applications easier, and since then, developers have asked us for more prescriptive guidance on “How do I use those in my applications?”
“Hilo” is an effort by the team to provide just that. The Hilo article series, along with sample app source code, are intended to jumpstart your development and show you how to take advantage of key Windows capabilities in your own app.
- To compile and run Hilo Browser app, you’ll need Visual Studio 2010 and Visual C++, download VC++ 2010 Express for free here.
- Once installed VC++ 2010 Express, unzip Hilo Browser source code and double click Hilo.sln solution file.
- Select Rebuild All from Build menu to build Hilo Browser app
- Press F5 to run the app in debug mode.
