Laplink Software comes to resuce of user who want to migrate Windows XP to Windows 7 operating system. According to Laplink, PCmover is capable of allowing end users to perform special “in-place” upgrades from XP to Windows 7. Of the 66 Windows 7 upgrade scenarios outlined by Microsoft, only 14 are supported by Windows 7 as an in-place upgrade. “PCmover supports all of the identified 66 and more,” explained Jack Wilson. In addition to the in-place upgrade feature, PCmover also includes support for migrations of Outlook Express (or Windows Mail) to Live Mail, transfers between all combinations of 32 and 64-bit operating systems, and the ability to use a Laplink Ethernet cable for instant connectivity between computers. The software’ll cost $49 per transfer with bulk and family pack discounts. It’ll be available in early October, in time for the October 22 release of Windows 7.
