Google is giving you all a nice New Year’s present, pushing out the annual PageRank update. Before today, the last toolbar page rank update was in October. For those, who saw their toolbar PageRank go up, congrats on the ‘badge’.

Also, Times Square, in New York will be hosting traditional midnight ball drop. If you’re staying home and prefer to watch the ball drop online, here’re some sites where you can watch the ball drop online for New Year’s Eve:

- Brent’s Live New Year Show – Aside from midnight ball drop, also has provides some other “shows” to usher in the new year. You can watch live shows here or at their YouTube channel.
Finally, you might have notice a periodic module on the YouTube homepage called “Spotlight Videos,” that run a few times per week and showcase interesting and timely videos from community and partners, all organized around an event or theme. “In 2010, Google at top of each month, will reveal a list of themes, along with an exclusive tag you should place on any video you’d like to be considered for the spotlight in advance”.
