Guide to have WHS shutdown remote PCs

Here’s an interesting article on how to have your Windows Home Server shut down remote computers. So lets say that you have your WHS plugged into a UPS, preferably an APC UPS with AVR, and one of you computers resides on the same UPS. Or if you have two computers that are powered by one UPS in a power outage/failure. Only problem is that with a UPS the communication port from the UPS can notify only one computer. So how do you get the second computer to shutdown without you having to be there?
