In June, Lindsay Tanner (Minister for Finance and Deregulation, Australia) launched the Govt 2.0 Taskforce, made up of technical experts, policy experts, and entrepreneurs, is going full steam ahead. It’s charged with accelerating Government onto the web groove train and driving open access to publicly funded information. “In July the Taskforce produced an Issues Paper which asks for input from the public on how to build a pro-disclosure culture within Government and how best to approach the greater release of government information. We submitted a response to the Issues Paper which outlined the following points. Government-held information should also be released primarily in raw form.
