Google have made an update to its Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Starter Guide available for webmasters, a first in several years builds up on and replaces the previous version of the old Starter Guide and the Webmaster Academy.
The traditional guide listed best practices around search engines crawl, index and hrlp on understanding content on websites, the new guide now introduces additional new sections, such as “structured data markup” and “building mobile-friendly websites.”
The original version of the SEO Starter Guide was released in 2008, is deprecated now since both these two resources had some overlapping purpose and content, “and could be more exhaustive on some aspects of creating a user friendly and safe website,” says Google.
This new guide is available in nine different languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Turkish. Google notes, users can expect sixteen more languages soon.
