To help shoppers easily complete their shopping tasks wherever and however they choose to shop, Google on Monday announced an umbrella of program that aims to extend the relationship with retailers as well as introducing a new universail shopping cart across platfforms and devices.
Google on Monday, introduced a new pay-per-sale ‘Shopping Actions’ program that offer customers an easier way to shop on Google Assistant and Search with a Google hosted checkout that runs across mobile, desktop or even on a Google Home device.
Shopping Actions appear within the sponsored Shopping Unit on Search and on Google.com/Shopping. And, you ‘only’ has to pay when a sale actually takes place. Users can save their payment information in Google accounts, and can also share their shopping lists.
Here is an example image of Shopping Actions on Google Assistant, Express and Search:
The program offer you:
- It leverages machine learning, AI and natural language processing, so customers can use a hands-free, voice-driven shopping experience across Google, like Assistant with voice shopping.
- A shareable list, universal shopping cart and instant checkout with saved payment credentials work across Google.com and Assistant.
- 1-click re-ordering, personalized recommendations, and basket-building turn one-time shoppers into repeat customers.
Google is partnered with Target and Walmart to support shopping via Assistant and Express and extends it to other retailers. Furthermore, the company also partnered with MasterCard to do a pre/post study among a representative subset of five Shopping Actions merchants.
Citing test results, Google indicates that early participating retailers on an average see an increase in total conversions at a lower cost when compared to Shpping ads. “We have also seen an approximately 30% average increase in basket size for merchants participating in Shopping Actions.”
Shopping Actions will be available via Google Assistant, Google Express and Google Express Shopping ads in Google Search.
